That's OK, it was a last minute decision and a blitz of a trip.

Riding on flat roads occasionally is a nice changeup, but it doesn't take long to realize why I moved to the mountains.

Yeah, so, turns out Alex WAS on that ride. Not sure if he was in the lead group, but he definitely mentioned the alligator. Too bad we didn't know sooner - could've put you two in touch!

Anyway, 4:40 is smokin'. Riding on flat roads must be awesome.

Dude, I miss just-riding or just-swimming. Triathlon'ing is wearing on me!

Also, I have a good friend (Alex) in Savannah. If you're around, he might be able to give you some recommendations or ride suggestions. Eat at Mellow Mushroom, enjoy some pralines on River St.!

Come ride in NYC with me for a few days and you won't complain about cars, traffic, fumes, or bad road surfaces anymore haha! It's one giant video game (but very real) riding in the city.

The Springmaid Splash 5 & 10K events are scheduled for this Saturday up in Spruce Pine. I haven't tried them yet but thinking I could do the 5K with no training. Supposed to have mud and water crossings. Could be interesting.

Yes, the Bele Chere 5K is a tough one to start off with and I don't know anyone that has their PR from that course. The deep fryers warming up early in the morning is what used to get to me back when I ran this event. In any case, I hope Tanya tries the Apple Festival 8K Race on Sat., Sept. 4. This event too will be chip timed (on the sneakers I think) and the course is relatively flat (really!). The registration form is on the Henderson County Chamber and Pardee Hospital websites or you can go to active.com and register online. Enough marketing this event even though as race director it should be expected. Nice job Tanya and thanks for posting this Dobo!
