Night Ride Milestone
As if one milestone in one day wasn't enough… I had to go and get another one.
The long way to work
When the weather hands you a day like today, you do the best you can to take advantage.
I couldn't get away with skipping work… everyone in the office would know right away I wasn't sick and I couldn't think of a better excuse.
9000!
Seems I just wrote an entry about 8000 a couple weeks ago, but here it is, Oct. 30 and I made it to 9000!
It was actually Oct. 3, just about four weeks ago. 250 a week all through October. Fun!
T[W]LL 100
As it turns out, I think I may have to rename my ride the Triple Windy Lindy Loops. Is TWiLL a word?
Also as it turns out, riding all three routes and two warm up loops is 99.98 miles!
That is just too weird.
Yet more rain…
I left work an hour early on Friday and headed for home, willing to admit defeat and give up on the idea of riding. But I talked to Sarah while driving home, and she was determined to ride come hell AND high water. Well… I can't resist that kind of passion, so I agreed to meet her for a soggy Friday ride.
Rainy & Ronnie
So much for taking the day off.
This morning I decided to cave in to the impending doom and gloom: 40° and rain… hell, even I'm not that stupid.
Or am I?
Twice the light.. nice
Got a chance to try out the helmet light tonight on the way home from the ride… sweeeet. More thoughts on that in a moment.
Last ride was just me 'n Fred, and tonight it was just me 'n Paul.
The long road home
I turned my 10 mile commute home into a 40 mile ride this evening. Boy was it a good thing to! Made the terribly unhealthy McDs dinner entirely worth it!
I'm only half serious about that… there was another reason/benefit.
October goals
In planning out the last week of October, looks like I can hit some nice milestones. If I really put some saddle time into it and get some breaks on the weather, then by All Hallow's Eve I should be able to hit:
- 300+ for the last full week of Oct.
- 1200 for Oct. ← highest 1 month total
- 9000 for the year
New Light
I mentioned that my main light dropped into reserve mode as I was cruising into Piqua tonight. This is one of those 'just in time things', since the end of DST is only a few days away.
