“aesthetic appeal”?
Doping scandles, team sponsors or licenses lost, riders jumping teams, cybercrime, crashes, injuries and even deaths in the races. It's about stinkin' time there was something lighter (er… maybe I mean 'darker'?) on cyclingnews!

Today marks the end of November and here's a summary of the month:
Read more on November wrap-up…
On a bit of a downer note, here's a product update for the Illuminite arm/leg warmers.
I attempted to race the rain cells this morning and get to work dry.
It didn’t work as planned.
Just an ordinary commute, except that I rode home in the middle of the afternoon. So pissed off at an out of hand office situation that I couldn't stand being there any more. It's all I can do from screaming I QUIT YOU STUPID M@#$%@#$ERS.
Only problem was it was 65 degrees and I was dressed for about 50. I had assumed I would be riding home after dark and in the rain, so was way overdressed. Ah well.
Another one of what is becoming a typical winter ride: commute to/from work, then pick up extra miles on the return trip.
A few random observations for today…
Oh this is just too insane! From Nov. 27 on cyclingnews.com. Read on:
As if I didn't have that little competition sewn up on the return trip from Highlander, today I passed up a horse & buggy while riding down Covington-Bradford Rd. Gave 'em one hell of a wide berth too. Last thing I need to is to get trampled by a horse… then I'd have all you jokers singing that Grandma/Reindeer song but with different words:
… you should always ride solo when it's 60 degrees in November?
If you rode with friends they'd see you haven't shaved your legs in a month!
This evening I got to do a bit of a time warp loop since I was in Beavercreek. Basically the fringes between Fairborn and Beavercreek and near the WSU campus. This was interesting to me for a number of reasons.
9500 miles! Just 500 more to go 'til 10k. OK, so I'm actually 5 miles short, but what the hell.. those'll be gone by tomorrow afternoon. I'll pick up another 100 minimum before the week's out, so that'll leave just 400 and 5 weeks to do it.
I'm guessing I'll hit the mark by mid-December. The rest 'll just be the gravy. Who knows, if I head south somewhere for a 4 day trip before New Years, I may even make 10,500.
Yesterday I mentioned the GOBA route was announced. Today I found out that XOBA will be a Lake Erie coastal route, although the specifics won't be announced until January. Regardless, while there are a lot of neat destinations along the lake, the riding between them is really quite boring. So I'm already ruling that out.
