To Blog Or Not To Blog?

Only one post in the past two months, but I’m still not ready to give up on the idea of keeping a “daily” activity journal. It’s interesting this used to be the first thing I did when I got home from a ride. Now I barely think about it more than once a month, and usually only after a big event. Then I play catchup with these summary posts, only to get tired of trying to remember what the hell I did, and writing about it weeks after it happened. Or I run out of time before needing to move on to other things like… sleeping. Or my job. You know, those annoying, trivial things that really screw up a good blog.

That and Facebook.

I think the real reason I’ve neglected this website so much is that Facebook is more immediate, more prevalent in my daily life, and more interactive. If something interesting happens during a run or ride, I throw it up there and there’s likes and comments and give and take of some kind. Assuming of course that anybody is even slightly interested in my Facebook mutterings any more than they were in these ramblings.

Perhaps it would be better to skip the daily minutia and only write on the bigger events, or when there’s a good photo album to include, or when I actually have something relevant and thoughtful and relevant to write about.

I think I’ll make that a New Year’s resolution fro 2014. In the meantime, I’m going to take one last stab at playing catchup and then posting at least something post-run/ride on a daily basis.
